Comic Relief Questions
How much money will go to comic relief?
Comic Relief receives at least 10p from the sale of every jar of sauce. Gordon Ramsay does not get a penny from the sauces. Simple as that.
How will the money raised from seriously good be spent?
The money received by Comic Relief will be used to transform lives in the UK and across some of the world’s poorest countries. Just some of the ways Comic Relief cash has made a difference in Africa includes educating people about HIV and AIDS, teaching women to read, immunising children and helping people rebuild their communities after conflict. Across the UK, examples include supporting older people in their fight to get their rights recognised, offering counselling and fun activities to give young carers a much needed break, and providing escape routes for women living with domestic violence.
I thought comic relief only did things once a year?
Comic Relief works all year round trying to make its vision – of a just world, free from poverty – become a reality. As well as organising two major fundraising campaigns (Red Nose Day and Sport Relief) the charity is devoted to supporting people living unimaginably tough lives across the UK, Africa and the world’s poorest countries. It works tirelessly to help people in desperate need find their way out of poverty, discrimination and disadvantage. That’s a full time job, 365 days a year – which is exactly why Seriously Good sauces are making it easy for shoppers to support Comic Relief throughout the entire year too.
Why did gordon develop these sauces?
Gordon was inspired by a visit he made in 2002 to a Comic Relief-funded project in Tanzania caring for street children. Gordon was incredibly touched by the children he met and decided to use his profile to help children like those he’d met in Tanzania through an initiative that could benefit Comic Relief 365 days of the year. After this trip he started to “cook up” the idea for Seriously Good.
